Antonella - Actor Head Shots
Antonella (above) is the first actor I had the pleasure of photographing. I am grateful she found me! Her photos were all done with natural window lighting. (I use, both, natural and traditional studio lighting techniques.) Antonella wanted some standard headshots, but also a few that would reveal her versatility and playful side as an actor. So, we kept mixing up the poses, lighting and camera positions, in order to produce a variety of contrasting looks. Slight adjustments to any or all of these elements can produce huge differences in the final results.
With Antonella and most actors that have since come my way, the shoot was divided into two halves. After the first half, I uploaded her images to my desktop for immediate viewing. I wanted Antonella to be able to give me her feedback right away, by marking the photos she liked. In so doing, we were able to strategize a game plan for a second series of photographs, by making any necessary revisions to posing and lighting. In in the end, whittling her selections down to the amount of images she came for, proved to be a difficult task for Antonella, which is always consider a good thing.
Jasmin - Actor Head Shots
Jasmin (above) was a pleasure and so easy to photograph! When she first contacted me to set up a photo shoot, she told me she had no idea of how to pose and would have to rely on me for direction. Apparently, this must have been a case of 'what a difference a few days make', because as it turned out, I hardly had to pose her at all. I just kept snapping the shutter, as she put on her fickle faces. Although Jasmin needed these photos for acting, I think she might want to try out for America's next top model.
Miguel - Actor Head Shots
Miguel (above) displays his many faces and hence the potential characters he could play. His facial expression with the first image, proves that even nice guys can be convincing in menacing roles.
Natasha - Actor Head Shots
I've always wanted to be able to take long straight blonde hair and blow it around in front of a black background. The image of Natasha on the right, with her hair in the air, intense eyes and stoic face, she looks like she could play the role of Medusa in an upcoming movie.
Charlie - Child Actor Headsots
Charlie says he prefers comedy roles. LEFT: Charlie attempts his best Robert DeNiro, "Are you talking to me!" MIDDLE IMAGES: Charlie is being his true self. RIGHT: I'm not really sure what Charlie is doing here, maybe the guppy fish!
PJ - Actor Head Shots
In the third photo (above) PJ appears to be vying for Bayer Aspirin commercial. Just take two of these and you will be fine.
