How to Dress for Engagement Photos
Although there are exceptions to every rule, here are some suggestions you may want to consider, in preparing for your engagement photos.
DRESS APPROPRIATELY: For outdoor engagement photos, we're going for a more casual look. (High heels, suits and ties may work in an urban setting, like downtown Tucson, but not so much in the middle of the Sonoran desert.)
SHOES: Shoes are invisible in most engagement photos, but they can show at times. If your scheduled shoot requires foot travel, wear appropriate footwear. You can pack your high heels and pull them out when desired for photos.
COLORS: Stick with solid colored shirts and pants if you can. Stripes, plaids and bold prints can be confusing. If you must have a pattern, try to keep it simple.
SLEEVES: Long sleeves are preferable to short sleeves, as bare arms can sometimes show up it ways you might not like. Similarly, bare shoulders or tops with spaghetti straps can make subjects look heavier and take away from the face.
PARAMOUNT: The most important thing you can do, as a couple, especially if you are planning outdoor photos, is to dress in like colors. Dress as one body.
