I moved to Tucson, Arizona, from Massachusetts, in late 2004, which easily explains why I have so many images from this part of the country. Still, most of the images from this region were taken in just the last two years. My first few years in Tucson, were devoted to re-establishing my commercial photography business in a new part of the country. After that got going, most of my spare time for the following ten years was spent caring for my mother. Long story short, I didn’t have very many opportunities to really get out there. Though I had to make some sacrifices, I wouldn’t have changed a thing. My mother loved and was loved by everyone. She very much loved nature too! I’m not sure if I always realized it, but she is one of the main inspirations for all the nature photography that I do.
Within this gallery are images from riparian regions of Southern Arizona, including Mount Lemmon, Madera Canyon and Chiricahua National Monument. However, the majority of landscapes in this section were taken somewhere in the Sonoran Desert region of Southern Arizona. This includes Saguaro National Park and Ironwood National Monument. In order not to overload this page, my images from Catalina State Park, also in the Sonoran Desert, have been placed in a separate gallery.
