SEVEN MONTHS ~ I’m not the first photographer I would expect local women to turn to for pregnancy photos. After all, it’s not where my experience lies. But the photographer adventurer in me is always willing and open to exploring new pathways, when they come along. In a way, after having photographed hundreds of weddings, expanding (pun intended) my services to include pregnancy photos would seem like a natural progression. Thankfully, Danielle, a past wedding client, whom, along with her husband Joel, I have become friends, provided my first opportunity.
I don’t know what the perfect time would be to have maternity photos taken. It’s an arbitrary decision. You want to have a obvious bump, but don’t wait until the final month. Should something unexpected begin to happen, I suppose I could turn my photo studio into a delivery room, but I’d have to go medical school before I could go any further than that!
Pregnancy PhotosDanielle was seven months along in these photos. While happy with the resulting images, I’m always far from being totally satisfied. It’s the nature of being a photographer. We know, there’s always room for improvement. It was a great first experience for me, however, and I would welcome the opportunity again, with open arms and my index finger on the shutter. By the way, this maternity shoot was the first for Danielle as well! Exciting stuff all the way around!
